I'm doing LBL because I believe in the Power of Together.

I've been meaning to do this for a few years, and I've finally taken the challenge. For 5 days next week, I'll only be spending $2.85 each day for all my food and drink. Kenny has also (been) signed up for the challenge - this is going to be really hard for him and he's conveinently managed to organise a work trip for a couple of nights.... so he'll be doing the challenge for 3 full days and one other dinner.

So... I'm part way through my menu plan. That's the first thing that's really suprised me - working out what some of our usual meals cost, but cutting back on some of the "luxury" ingredients that go in them, while still trying to keep the fresh veg levels high. I think I'm going to be spending a bit more time than usual in the kitchen next week, and drooling over some of the things Sammy will get to eat (although she'll still be eating the same as us for dinner).

What's this all about? Raising awareness of global poverty and seeing just how hard it is to have such a tight budget. Of course, it's much easier for me as I have access to a wide range of food, and, potentially, I've somewhat cheated as I've costed out what I've used, opposed to the cost of buying a whole bag oats for example.

Please help me help them by giving whatever you can using the 'Donate' button. The more people that know about Live Below the Line, the greater the impact, so please also spread the word by sharing my page with your friends and family.

Thank you in advance for your generosity, it means a lot! Together, we're helping enable vulnerable families around the world to help themselves out of poverty.

I'm saving at least this amount on groceries for the week, so giving it to the cause!

Better you than me! Good luck to you both and well done for trying this.
