What I do at Tearfund

As those of you who know me, you have heard my passionate spiels about the injustice of poverty and inequality. You've supported my fundraising efforts since I was a teenager doing work in Thailand, and became my support base during my year in Papua New Guinea. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart - for believing in me all these years and bigger than that, for seeing the people behind my stories who are their own champions in life's daily battles that occur.

I'm so excited to write to you in the current position that I am, a Programmes Specialist at Tearfund NZ working with a team of international development practioners who are totally dedicated to a partner model.

A partner model for us is all about supporting (financially, mentoring, monitoring and evaluating etc) the community based organisations who carry out the programmes and projects to their own communities. It's not about an org being dependent on us - they are already working and we are coming alongside them. I am so passionate about this approach, and could easily tell you more... next time we talk! FYI my responsibilities are around child sponsorship work, as well as the Nourish sector (maternal child health, education and water/health/sanitation)

So take a look around this website to read the stories of where the Live Below the Line campaign funds are heading. Feel free to ask me more about our work, give me a call or email/facebook etc. Come on the Tearfund joruney with me :)

I'm doing LBL because I believe in the Power of Together.

I've signed up to Live Below the Line because together, we can make a real difference against global poverty. I'm inspired by the work of Tearfund and wanted to support them by raising money as part of my five-day challenge.

Please help me help them by giving whatever you can using the 'Donate' button. The more people that know about LBL, the greater the impact, so please also spread the word by sharing my page with your friends and family.

Thank you in advance for your generosity, it means a lot! Together, we're helping enable vulnerable families around the world to help themselves out of poverty.

Thank you to my Sponsors
